About This Course
SYNOPSIS :
The growing emphasis on environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and governance has significantly increased the demand for ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting-especially among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). As regulatory and stakeholder expectations rise, there is a need for simplified and practical tools to support businesses in navigating ESG disclosure requirements.
This program is designed to train facilitators in guiding SMEs through ESG reporting using the Simplified ESG Disclosure Guide (SEDG), supported by Bursa Malaysia’s Centralised Sustainability Intelligence (CSI) Platform. The training introduces the structure and purpose of the SEDG framework, aimed at helping SMEs simplify and enhance their ESG disclosures.
A key component of the training involves methodological approaches to materiality assessment, enabling businesses to develop sustainability materiality matrices tailored to their unique contexts. Detailed discussions on the essential aspects of environmental, social, and governance disclosures will follow, covering key areas such as GHG emissions, energy, water, waste, materials, human rights, labour standards, diversity, occupational health and safety, and community engagement. The program will also focus on governance essentials, including governance structure, policy commitments, risk management, anti-corruption practices, and customer privacy.
While this program equips participants with the skills to support SMEs in submitting ESG data via the CSI platform, it is important to note that CSl platform access is reserved for SMEs/clients only. Facilitators are trained to guide and support these organisations in navigating the reporting process in alignment with national and international sustainability standards.

CERTIFICATION & EXAMINATION POLICY
Examination: Pass
1. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion after completing the course modules (PART A).
2. A Certificate of Recognition as an IGTI Certified CSI Platform Facilitator will be awarded upon successfully passing the examination (PART B).
3. First-time registrants as an IGTI Certified CSI Platform Facilitator will also receive two (2) years of complimentary “Institute Associate” membership.
4. Certified facilitators will be listed in the official IGTI Certified CSI Platform Facilitator Directory on our website.
5. To maintain Active Status, facilitators must participate in an Annual Refresher Session (RM100 per session).
Examination: Fail
1. Participants who registered for PART B are eligible for one (1) free resit of the examination.
2. For participants joining the program by invitation, a resit fee will apply.
3. The certification process must be completed within 12 months from the date of the initial assessment.
REMARKS

A minimum of 15 participants is required to proceed with a training or assessment batch.

In the event that IGTI cancels a training or assessment, participants will be automatically enrolled in the next available batch.

A 5% administrative fee will be applied to all cancellations initiated by a participant.

DR. LIEW WAI LOAN
Dr. Liew Wai Loan is a Senior Lecturer at the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and is a certified Green Manager under GreenREAP (MAS). Additionally, Dr. Liew is a Certified Trainer with the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC).
With a strong commitment to advancing green technologies and sustainable practices, Dr. Liew plays a pivotal role in promoting ESG initiatives within the academic and professional communities.
